Excel to XML
Convert a sheet into well-formed XML: one element per row, with tag names taken from your header row.
Your converted file will appear here.
How headers become tags
XML tag names can’t contain spaces or start with a number, so headers are cleaned automatically: “Product Name” becomes Product_Name and “2026 Sales” becomes Sales. Duplicate headers get a number added. Special characters in your data, like & and <, are escaped so the XML is always valid.
How to use the Excel to XML
- Choose an Excel or CSV file.
- Pick the sheet and, if you like, rename the root and row elements.
- Click Convert, then copy the XML or download the file.
Frequently asked questions
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read and converted by your own browser, so it never leaves your device. That makes it safe for customer lists, finances and other private data.
Can I choose the element names?
Yes. Set the root element (wrapping the whole file) and the row element (one per spreadsheet row). Column tags come from your header row.
Does it work with CSV too?
Yes. Choose a .csv file and it is converted the same way.
