Resize Image

Set a new width and height (or a percentage). The aspect ratio is kept by default so photos never look stretched.

—Original
—New size

Your file will appear here.

Common sizes

  • Blog or website image: 1200–1600 px wide.
  • Social share image: 1200 × 630 px.
  • Instagram post: 1080 × 1080 px (square) or 1080 × 1350 px (portrait).
  • Email: 600–800 px wide.

Making an image larger than the original can’t add detail, so it will look softer. For smaller files after resizing, try the Image Compressor.

How to use the Resize Image

  1. Choose an image.
  2. Type a new width or height (the other updates automatically), or a percentage.
  3. Click Resize image and download it.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded?

No. Images are processed by your browser on your own device, so private photos never leave it.

Will resizing reduce quality?

Making an image smaller keeps it sharp. Making it bigger than the original makes it softer, because no new detail can be created.

What formats are supported?

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP. You can keep the original format or save as JPG, PNG or WebP.
