MP4 to MP3

Turn a video into an MP3: great for lectures, podcasts, interviews and music you recorded yourself.

Your file will appear here.

First use downloads the video engine once (about 31 MB). After that it’s cached and starts instantly.

Which bitrate?

128 kbps is plenty for speech: lectures, meetings and podcasts. 192 kbps is a good all-round choice. 320 kbps is the highest MP3 quality, for music. Higher bitrates can’t add quality the original didn’t have.

Only convert videos you own or have permission to use.

How to use the MP4 to MP3

  1. Choose a video file (MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM…).
  2. Pick the MP3 quality.
  3. Click Convert to MP3 and download the audio.

Frequently asked questions

Is my video uploaded to a server?

No. The conversion runs inside your browser using a WebAssembly version of FFmpeg, the same engine professional video tools use. Your file never leaves your device.

Does it work with other video formats?

Yes. MOV, MKV, WebM, AVI and most other video files work, not just MP4.

Can I download audio from YouTube here?

No. This tool converts files already on your device. Downloading from YouTube and similar sites is against their terms.
