How XML is turned into rows
The tool looks for the element that repeats most often (such as <product> or <item>) and makes each one a row. Child elements become columns, nested ones are named like shipping.price, attributes start with @, and repeated children are combined in one cell, separated by semicolons. If it picks the wrong element, type the right one in “Record element”.
How to use the XML to Excel
- Choose an XML file, or paste XML.
- Check the detected record element, and change it if needed.
- Click Convert and download the .xlsx file.
Frequently asked questions
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read and converted by your own browser, so it never leaves your device. That makes it safe for customer lists, finances and other private data.
What kinds of XML work best?
List-style data: product feeds, order exports, RSS feeds, sitemaps and database dumps. Deeply mixed documents (like XHTML pages) don’t map neatly to rows.
What if the wrong element is used for rows?
Type the tag name you want, for example item or entry, in the Record element box and convert again.
