Free Website SEO Audit
Enter a page address and get a clear list of SEO problems, from indexing blockers to missing tags and broken links, each with a plain-English fix.
What this SEO audit checks
The audit reads the page the same way a search engine does, from its raw HTML, and runs more than 40 checks in seven areas:
- Indexing: status code, redirects, HTTPS, noindex tags and headers, canonical tags, robots.txt rules and whether a sitemap is listed.
- Title & meta: title and description length measured in pixels (the way Google cuts them), viewport, language and character set.
- Content: H1 headings, heading order, word count and long pages without subheadings.
- Social sharing: Open Graph and X card tags that control how links look on Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and X.
- Links: internal and external link counts, links without anchor text, vague “click here” links and nofollowed internal links. One click then tests up to 120 of the page’s links for 404s.
- Images: missing alt text, missing width and height (which causes layout shift) and lazy loading.
- Speed & technical: server response time, HTML size, render-blocking scripts, insecure http:// files and favicons, plus whether structured data is present and readable.
How to read the score
Every page starts at 100. Each error costs 12 points and each warning costs 4; tips and passed checks don’t change it. Errors are things that can stop a page ranking at all, such as noindex, a 404 or a missing title. Warnings make a page weaker than it could be. A score above 90 means the basics are in good shape. It doesn’t guarantee rankings, which also depend on content quality, links and competition, but it removes the technical reasons a page can’t compete.
Fix in this order
- Errors in Indexing first: a page Google can’t index can’t rank, however good it is.
- Title and meta description: the quickest wins for click-through rate.
- Content and headings: thin pages and missing H1s.
- Broken links, images and speed.
Each issue links to the Rankbench tool that fixes it, such as the meta title and description generators, the robots.txt generator or the Core Web Vitals checker.
What this audit can’t see
It checks one page at a time from its HTML, the way most crawlers first see it. Content added later by JavaScript, pages behind a login and site-wide issues like duplicate titles across many pages need a crawl or Google Search Console. For real-world loading speed, use the Core Web Vitals checker, which runs Google Lighthouse.
How to use the Website SEO Audit
- Paste the full address of the page you want to check.
- Click Run audit and wait a few seconds while the page is fetched and analysed.
- Fix the errors first, then the warnings. Use the linked tools, then run the audit again.
Frequently asked questions
Is this SEO audit really free?
Yes. No sign-up and no daily limit for normal use. You can audit as many pages as you like.
Can it audit my whole website?
It audits one page at a time in depth. Start with your homepage and most important pages, then use Google Search Console to find site-wide issues.
Why does a site say it couldn’t be fetched?
Some sites block automated visitors or use bot protection, and some take longer than 12 seconds to respond. Try the exact page URL, including https://.
