XML to CSV
Flatten XML into a CSV file: one row per record, with nested values and attributes as columns.
Or paste the content instead
Your converted file will appear here.
Columns from nested XML
Nested elements are flattened into dotted column names, so <customer><name> becomes a customer.name column, and attributes such as id="A1" become @id. Records missing a value simply get an empty cell, so every row has the same columns.
How to use the XML to CSV
- Choose an XML file, or paste XML.
- Check the detected record element and pick a separator.
- Click Convert and download the CSV.
Frequently asked questions
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read and converted by your own browser, so it never leaves your device. That makes it safe for customer lists, finances and other private data.
Can I open the CSV in Excel?
Yes. The file is saved as UTF-8 with a marker Excel recognises, so special characters display correctly. Use XML to Excel if you want a .xlsx file directly.
What if my XML has several kinds of records?
The tool converts one record type at a time. Enter each tag name in the Record element box in turn to export them separately.
